what is gender equality in Africa

What is the difference between a male and a female? Is it the sexual organs or their natural outlook; can a man do something that a woman cannot do? Many ponder and reason that there is nothing that one can consider to make man to do certain thing that a woman cannot do.

The issue of gender based violence is very common in Liberia.

As we can share in a clear voice that many years ago our forefather by way of tradition had been carrying on these practices in what they call the traditional education for the women called the sande society; wherein they carry on female genital mutilation (FGM) at the first degree. This is very cruel to those young girls and women with ignorance that enter such society and many at time forced to enter as they often says is our ancestor culture and we cannot allow our children to let it die. This may cause bareness, HIV & Aids, and other disabilities.

The level at the public can some time be manage, as awareness and some national laws that give equal opportunities to the both male and female counterpart. In Africa as a whole many do not take this as a issue because this is just like a myth to them, as they fells that it can’t work to bring the male and female counterpart in one ring. In Liberia there are two groups of traditional people; the kwa and the mano speaking people. The mano speaking people are those that practice the harmful traditional culture.

Elsewhere, like in the Arab world; Egypt for example where the people used the third level of FGM, this is very terrible. The lava menorah and lava menorah   virginal are use to put strings through holds as to prevent them from having sex while their husband are absent at time in a far away land. The question that arises is that what protect the man why away, since the woman is protected that way. The answer is nonsense.

The increase of arms robbery in monrovia

The government of Liberia last year enacted into law a bill that enforced the death panelty which the said would protect the citize of crime like arm robbery amoung others. This seem to be a myth as the level of arm robbery had in fact increase to a higher level. talking to some  citizen yesterday sa they said that the government is not looking to the cause of the problem but rather finding political aternative to real and difficult crime prevension and the protection of citizens and other that are residing in around monrovia. This is how politically inclim people pretend to their fearful constituent that they are doing something to  combacting crimes. the government needs to equipe the police and create job oppotunity for its citizens. The fears of many is when the united Nations mission ends what would  life be like in liberia?
